A liberal friend of mine saw you as just right of center. I always saw you as just left of center, perhaps more because you worked for a shamelessly left news organization.

but therein lies the brilliance of tim russert.

You may be the last of your kind.

We are sorry you will not be able to see the outcome (on the ground at least) of what you called the most fascinating presidential race in history.

act before it is too late! right?

this is a very important concept that is being applied to the global warming and climate change debate both in support of and against drastic measures.

(you'll also probably recognize this as part of the argument Goerge Bush used, in reverse, in his pre-emptive policy and war on Iraq)

while the global warming alarmists tell us acting too late on certain issues will certainly doom us all, another way to look at it is:

(as for george bush and iraq - not enough is made of the decade of diplomatic efforts from Bush 1 to Clinton to Bush 2, so the only solution for anti-war supporters was no war at all. No amount of "diplomacy" was going to resolve a situation that was continuing to deteriorate in Iraq and with the other security council members who were going around the oil for food embargo and privately embarrassing the US and Britain: France, Germany, and Russia)

it would seem today's world has turned the old maxim upside down.

who needs to think for themselves when you have keith olbermann, bill o'reilly, rush limbaugh, glenn beck, hannity and colmes, or countless other talking heads on tv anymore.

some are great. all have good points every once in awhile. some thrive off inventing lies and controversy. some are getting too into themselves and their rivals for my taste.

glenn beck seems to be the most reasoned of them all at the moment. and you have to love his passion for the logic and common sense.

and I am left with one thought every night that I watch countdown with keith olbermann… if the guy is so clearheaded and forthright as he claims to be… why hasn't he ever put himself up as the "worst person in the world". Seems like your missing your own point half the time keith.

Of course it is. Unless it also hurts people.

Treating Mother Earth right is a wise thing to do. After all, the Earth is also God's creation. But lets not confuse doing what is right for the Earth, and doing it in a way that helps people without hurting them, with those who will use this opportunity for personal financial gain and a personal or clandestine power grab.

If we do not acknowledge these possibilities, and in some cases realities, and use this understanding to temper our view and actions regarding the news and facts around the issue, then we deserve whatever the consequences may be.

Perhaps the loss of our nationalism and freedom for someone else's idea of the "greater good".

It's simple. Stop and think for yourself, and remember that there has never been an issue without two sides. And that history is full of seemingly very smart and/or influential people (they are not always the same thing) being proved wrong.

Do you believe you own the moral high ground on issues like fuel, food, or climate change?

You might want to think about the following questions…

Does a nobel peace prize automatically make al gore and the IPCC right?

Do American workers believe the Employee Free Choice Act actually gives them a choice?

Does Obama's health care plan really provide a choice? When it eliminates any new choices in coverage in the market, and provides a fine for those who don't sign up for it for their families or businesses regardless of income levels?

Does the United Nations Anti-Blasphemy resolution protect religious freedoms for all or provide for extensive protections of Islam while effectively restraining Christianity, and even providing opportunities for Christianity to be made illegal because it conflicts with Islam?

Even Hitler was named Time Magazine's man of the year just before he started World War II.

and at one time wasn't everyone convinced that the Earth was flat and the Sun and Moon and the Stars revolved around it?

Don't be fooled by clever manipulations of words and ideas.

Think about the motives and consequences!
